Job summary

Centre for Continuing Education at the University of Sydney is seeking an experienced HR Partnering professional to provide strategic HR advice, partnering with leaders to translate workforce strategy into practical people outcomes.

You will work across workforce planning, organisational design, talent and change, ensuring compliant, high-quality advice and records while collaborating with HR Centres of Expertise.

Qualifications

• substantial HR partnering experience within a large, complex organisation, ideally within tertiary education or Centre of Expertise operating model.
• demonstrated ability to provide clear, pragmatic and solutions-focused advice grounded in evidence, policy and relevant frameworks.
• strong experience interpreting enterprise agreements, awards, legislation and organisational policies.
• ability to work effectively in a high-case-load environment with competing priorities and timely stakeholder service.

Responsibilities

• partner with leaders to understand workforce priorities and provide pragmatic, evidence-based HR advice
• translate policy and HR frameworks into practical options for stakeholders
• manage a high-volume portfolio of HR matters with sound judgement on urgency and risk
• maintain high-quality case records and documentation of decisions and interactions
• collaborate with HR Centres of Expertise to develop integrated client-focused solutions
• provide strategic and operational advice across planning, design, talent, performance, culture and organisational change
• support leaders through workforce change and navigate people implications
• use evidence and best practice to identify emerging issues and inform decisions
• build capability of leaders to manage people matters beyond transactional HR
• contribute to continuous improvement across HR Partnering and related frameworks/processes
• support broader HR initiatives including capability development and implementation of improved frameworks
