Job summary

The Victorian Department of Health is seeking a Manager Safer Together Team 1 to lead a portfolio of strategic improvement initiatives within Safer Care Victoria’s Improvement Branch. You will partner with clinicians, consumers and health leaders to co-design, deliver and evaluate improvements addressing system priorities and reform.

The role reports to the Director, Improvement Unit 1 and focuses on building capability and ensuring an inclusive, high-performing team.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in health administration, medicine, nursing, midwifery, paramedic, pharmacist or allied health desirable.
• Masters in public health, business administration or similar desirable.
• Previous project management experience essential (healthcare setting highly desirable).
• Strong understanding of the Victorian health system, and knowledge of the department and its operating processes and information systems is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee a portfolio of strategic improvement initiatives within Safer Together Team 1.
• Partner with people with lived experience, clinicians, health service leaders and delivery partners to co-design, deliver and evaluate improvements.
• Create a psychologically safe, inclusive and accountable environment for staff to test, implement and sustain practical solutions to complex healthcare challenges.
