Job summary

The Victorian Department of Health seeks a Manager, System Response and Optimisation to lead a team delivering system level programs across emergency care, including the Virtual Emergency Department's expansion, and to coordinate responses to emerging risks affecting ambulance access.

You will engage with a broad range of stakeholders, apply health policy design, program implementation and governance expertise, and help drive statewide reform while fostering a positive team culture.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in fields related to health, public policy, business and/or management, or health administration would be desirable.
• Significant knowledge and experience in government, health sector and/or health service delivery would be desirable, with skills and experience in project management and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Develops policy frameworks within area of expertise or responsibility based on defined organisational priorities.
• Identifies and responds to new and emerging strategic issues impacting on the operating environment.
• Initiates and manages negotiations with peers (internal and external to work unit) to gain commitment to projects, and delivery of activities to meet timelines.
• Responsible for operational policy or service development impacting on a major functional area.
• Manages a large scale organisational service or regional delivery function.
