Willoughby City Council is seeking a Finance Business Partner to deliver strategic financial insight and support informed decision-making across the organisation. You will lead budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and financial analysis to drive sustainable outcomes for the Council and community.

Reporting to the Financial Planning and Analysis Team Leader, you will collaborate with Executives, Managers and Team Leaders to improve financial capability and contribute to long-term sustainability.

Qualificações

• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, with substantial experience in management accounting, financial planning and analysis, or finance business partnering.
• Professional accreditation as a CA or CPA with strong governance and accounting standards knowledge.
• Experience partnering with operational leaders to provide strategic financial advice and support informed decisions.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling capabilities with ability to analyse data and translate findings.
• Experience in preparing management reports, business cases, financial performance analysis, and executive-level reporting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confidence with financial systems and large data sets.
• Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to identify trends and opportunities.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills for non-financial audiences.
• Customer-focused approach and commitment to delivering high-quality service.
• Strong organisational and time management skills to manage competing priorities.

Responsabilidades

• Partner with managers and leaders to provide proactive financial advice and support decision-making.
• Lead the preparation, monitoring and review of annual budgets, forecasts and business plans.
• Deliver timely management reporting, financial analysis and performance insights to support objectives.
• Support long-term financial planning and development of sustainable strategies.
• Identify trends, risks and opportunities through data analysis and provide recommendations.
• Build financial capability across the organisation through coaching and stakeholder engagement.
• Support continuous improvement of financial systems, reporting tools, processes and controls.
• Contribute to month-end, year-end and statutory reporting while complying with standards.
