Job summary

Sutherland Shire Council is seeking a Senior Development Planner to guide the development process within the council area. You will provide expert advice to Planning Managers and the Director of Planning, manage development applications from initiation to completion, and produce comprehensive reports for panels and committees.

The role requires strong urban planning experience, excellent project management, and the ability to liaise with diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Background in urban planning with experience in assessing complex development applications.
• Strong project management skills and thorough knowledge of planning legislation.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a range of stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Guide the development process and provide expert advice to Planning Managers and the Director of Planning.
• Manage development applications from initiation to completion and produce detailed reports.
• Liaise with stakeholders, negotiate outcomes, and provide expert testimony when required.
• Rotate through teams to support efficient service delivery.
