Job summary

Amentum in Australia seeks a Commercial Officer to provide complex commercial advice, contract management and procurement outcomes for the Export Program PMO. The role sits within an integrated workforce and multidisciplinary team to ensure value for money and compliance with Defence policy.

The position evolves rapidly, requiring development of complex documents and proactive risk management, working across senior stakeholders and external contractors. Adelaide-based, 40 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Eligibility for NV1 security clearance
• Eligibility for access to US export controlled data (ITAR)
• 8+ years experience in managing Defence contractual relationships
• Attention to detail with ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities
• Ability to work collaboratively with clients and contractors in a tightly integrated team
• Strong communications and stakeholder engagement capabilities
• Ability to work independently in a dynamic, high pressure environment and deliver outstanding outcomes
• Desirable: NV1 Security Clearance
• Desirable: knowledge of Defence contracts (ASDEFCON templates) and complex procurement

Responsibilities

• Commercial support and advice in the Defence export context
• Active participation in multi-disciplinary meetings
• Develop, review and evaluation of contract and Defence approval documents
• Drafting and progression of correspondence, briefs and reports
• Development, evaluation and implementation of CCPs in consultation with stakeholders
• Monitor contractor compliance with contractual obligations
• Identify commercial risks and develop mitigation strategies
• Interface with JORN Sustainment and HFRPO teams on interdependencies
• Commercial aspects of procurement planning and approvals
• Develop and maintain commercial/contract training materials
