Job summary

The Senior Adviser, Corporate Communications at Qantas Group will support external communications and media strategy, advising senior executives to protect and enhance the brand. You will develop strategies, manage media relationships, and respond to issues and crises in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Corporate Communications, Media Relations, Public Affairs or a related function within a large corporate environment (ASX-listed, banking or retail preferred).
• Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills with ability to translate complex information into clear, audience-focused communications.
• Proven experience providing strategic communications advice and trusted counsel to senior leaders and executives.
• Strong media relations expertise, including understanding of news cycles, reputation management, and high-profile issues or crisis communications.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, media contacts and external stakeholders.
• Excellent project management, organisational and stakeholder engagement skills, with ability to influence and manage multiple demands.
• Experience in complex, fast-paced organisations undergoing change; aviation industry experience is highly regarded.
• Flexibility for 24-hour on-call media phone on weekends and weeknights (rostered).
• Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or related discipline.

• Provide trusted advice to senior executives and stakeholders to protect and enhance the Qantas brand.
• Develop and execute communication strategies supporting major business initiatives and events.
• Manage media relationships, respond to emerging issues and support communications during incidents and crises.
