Job summary

Nillumbik Shire Council is seeking a strategic Coordinator for Community Safety and Resilience - MEMO to provide expert advice to the Manager Community Safety and Amenity, ELT and Council on safety, emergency management, resilience and regulatory services.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for Community Safety and Resilience services across the municipality
• Lead the development and implementation of service strategies, policies, plans and initiatives that support community safety, emergency preparedness, resilience and compliance outcomes
• Lead council-wide initiatives that strengthen organisational resilience, emergency preparedness and community recovery capability
• Drive continuous improvement, innovation and service transformation across multiple service areas
• Build and maintain strategic partnerships with government agencies, emergency services, community organisations and regional networks
• Manage significant operational, financial, reputational and legislative risks associated with Community Safety and Resilience services
• Ensuring Council maintains appropriate emergency management capability, readiness, relief and recovery arrangements
• Undertake the statutory duties and responsibilities of the Municipal Emergency Management Officer (MEMO)
