ASG Equipment Group in regional NSW is seeking a commercially astute Chief Financial Officer to join the senior leadership team. Based near Mudgee, you will partner with the CEO to shape the organisation's financial and strategic direction in the mining and resources sector.

This is a hands-on leadership role—not just reporting—focused on capital management, asset performance, cash flow, funding and ROI. You’ll lead a finance team of three, coordinate with external accountants and advisers, and

Formación

• Significant senior finance leadership experience.
• CA/CPA or equivalent professional qualifications.
• Strong commercial, strategic and financial acumen.
• Experience partnering directly with a CEO, Managing Director or business owner.
• Experience within an asset-intensive business environment.
• Exposure to mining, resources, heavy equipment, equipment hire, civil, construction, transport or related industries will be highly regarded.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow and financial modelling skills.
• Experience assessing capital expenditure and investment decisions.
• An understanding of asset financing and capital management.
• The ability to interpret financial information and turn it into practical commercial recommendations.
• Strong leadership and people-management capability.
• Confidence working with external accountants, financiers and professional advisors.
• A pragmatic, collaborative and solutions-focused approach.

Responsabilidades

• Acting as a trusted financial and commercial partner to the CEO.
• Providing strategic advice to support growth, profitability and the long‑term financial position of the business.
• Leading budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow management and longer‑term financial planning.
• Developing financial models and commercial analysis to support major business and investment decisions.
• Providing clear and meaningful management reporting to improve visibility of business performance.
• Analysing profitability, margins, costs and key financial and operational performance drivers.
• Providing commercial insight into capital expenditure, asset investment, utilisation and return on investment.
• Supporting funding, financing and capital‑management decisions.
• Identifying opportunities to improve profitability, efficiency and financial performance.
• Strengthening financial systems, processes, controls and governance as the organisation continues to grow.
• Leading, mentoring and developing a finance team of three.
• Partnering with external accountants, banks, financiers and other professional advisors.
• Overseeing financial reporting, taxation, compliance and statutory requirements.
• Providing commercial input into contracts, pricing and new business opportunities.
• Supporting the CEO in assessing strategic opportunities, commercial risks and future growth initiatives.
