Job summary

FourQuarters Recruitment is seeking an experienced CFO for a Sydney CBD role, leading the finance function in a project-based environment and partnering with the CEO and Board on strategy and growth. You will drive commercial performance, oversee WIP, project costing and margins, and strengthen financial reporting across the business.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong technical accounting and a proven track record in project-focused industries, with full working rights in Australia.

Qualifications

• CFO/Finance Director level experience.
• Background in a project-based industry (engineering, construction, manufacturing).
• CA/CPA qualification mandatory.
• Hands-on leadership with strong communications.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing financial performance, reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
• Managing cash flow, working capital and treasury.
• Providing commercial oversight of WIP, project costing and margins.
• Improving financial visibility across projects and business operations.
• Strengthening financial controls, reporting processes and governance.
• Overseeing statutory reporting, technical accounting and compliance.
• Driving finance systems improvements and transformation.
• Partnering with the CEO and Board on business strategy and growth.
• Developing and strengthening the finance team.
