Job summary

Qualifications

My client is a well-established Australian business seeking an experienced CFO to join their Sydney CBD team. Operating in a project-based environment, the business is looking for a commercially minded finance leader with strong WIP and project costing experience to support its next stage of growth.

The Role

A broad CFO opportunity combining strategic leadership with hands-on financial oversight. Working closely with the CEO and Board, you will lead the finance function, drive commercial performance and strengthen financial reporting across the business. Responsibilities will include:

About You

• Previous CFO, Finance Director or senior finance leadership experience
• Background in a similar project-based industry, such as engineering, construction, manufacturing or related environments
• Strong WIP, project accounting and costing experience
• Commercially minded, with the ability to understand project profitability and business performance
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting knowledge
• Experience improving finance processes, systems and controls
• Proven ability to partner with senior stakeholders and influence business decisions
• CA/CPA qualified
• Hands-on approach with strong leadership and communication skills
