Job summary

Woolworths Group in Sydney is seeking a senior Solution Architect for Point of Sale (POS) systems. You will own the end-to-end lifecycle from conceptual architecture to configuration and operations, translating business vision into scalable technical designs and guiding cross-functional teams.

You will collaborate with Product Managers and Solution Architects to drive architectural governance, manage incidents and changes, and ensure designs remain robust and future-proof in a fast-paced retail

Qualifications

• 5+ years driving retail store system strategies and architectures.
• Influence diverse stakeholders to balance vision with feasibility.
• Deep knowledge of retail IT processes and POS integrations.
• Expertise across DevOps lifecycle and delivery environments.
• Ability to propose high-level architectural alternatives and governance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary technical and design SME for POS solutions end-to-end.
• Translate business vision into scalable, high-performance designs.
• Lead diverse teams of developers, operations, and vendors.
• Own the technical blueprint from ideation to developer handoff.
• Identify architectural impacts early and ensure seamless integration.
• Audit acceptance criteria and testing against designs.
• Facilitate knowledge transfers to operations and support teams.
• Lead major incidents, problems and changes with clear updates.
• Investigate design-level failures or outages and report to leadership.
• Analyze system health trends and drive architectural improvements.
• Streamline configurations for maximum efficiency and reliability.
