Job summary

Woolworths Group in Sydney is seeking a Store Space Deployment Floor Planner to own end-to-end space planning for stores. You will develop data-driven floor plans using Blue Yonder, work with cross-functional teams and ensure plans meet customer needs while optimizing space and profitability.

This 12-month FTC offers hybrid work with three days in the office and visits to suppliers; you’ll join a team focused on growth, career development, and delivering the freshest offerings to shoppers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience in merchandising, category analysis, or replenishment.
• Bachelor degree in Business, Marketing, Finance or related field.
• FMCG/retail industry knowledge beneficial but not required.
• Proficient with Google and Microsoft systems; intermediate Excel (pivot tables, formulas).
• Experience in SAP and Blue Yonder (JDA) Space Planning.

Responsibilities

• Create data-driven floor plans using the Blue Yonder Space Planning to maximize space while maintaining blueprint standards and data integrity.
• Manage project timelines and adhere to Agile ceremonies.
• Collaborate with commercial partners and internal teams, using data-led recommendations to inform decisions and improve customer experiences.
• Address store space queries within SLAs and coordinate with Renewal/Refit Coordinators to resolve space issues.
• Contribute to team goals and the overall strategic success of the space planning function.

What you’ll do

Working as part of the Supermarket and Metro Store Space Deployment team, The Store Space Deployment Planner is responsible for the end-to‑end delivery of optimised floor plans through project‑based activities and partnering with stores in executing space changes to deliver the best possible outcomes for our stores and customers. This pivotal role demands strong cross‑functional collaboration with a diverse range of internal stakeholders, spanning 360, Store Operations, and merchandising & Customer Value (MCV) teams, across multiple organisational levels.

Success in this role hinges on the ability to meticulously interpret data and translate it into actionable insights that directly inform floor plan development, ensuring adherence to established flows, adjacencies, and space standards, while maintaining an unwavering focus on prioritising customer needs and enhancing the overall customer experience. The Store Space Deployment Planner is an integral part of a wider Merchandising & Customer Value team with the core objective of delivering meaningful value and providing the freshest fresh offerings to all our customers, with a keen awareness of tailoring our approach to Value/Core/Up store formats and meeting the unique needs of our multicultural communities.

You will:

• Floor Plan Creation & Governance: Develops data-driven floor plans using the Blue Yonder Floor Planning application to maximize commercial space returns while maintaining blueprint standards, customer insights, and data integrity.
• Timeline & Agile Adherence: Manages project deadlines through proactive written and verbal communication, adhering strictly to Agile principles and team ceremonies.
• Stakeholder Collaboration & Influence: Partners strategically with commercial partners and internal teams, using data-led recommendations to influence decision‑making and build customer‑focused merchandising experiences.
• Store & Renewal Support: Solves store space queries within agreed SLAs and collaborates directly with Renewal/Refit Coordinators to resolve space issues during refits with strong attention to detail.
• Continuous Business Contribution: Plays an active role in driving team goals and contributing to the overall strategic success of the space planning function.

What you’ll bring

• A minimum of 3 years experience in relevant roles (eg: Merchandising, Category analyst, Replenishment)
• Bachelor Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance or related subject or equal professional experience (desired)
• Understands the FMCG / retail industry and commercial processes of Woolworths and Suppliers - beneficial, but not strictly required
• Proficient understanding of Google & Microsoft systems, with intermediate excel functions (eg: pivot tables, formulas, conditional formatting)
• Experience in SAP and Blue Yonder (JDA) Space Planning
