Job summary

Frootz on Parade in Fitzroy North, Melbourne VIC, is seeking an experienced Retail Store Manager to lead our fresh produce and grocery team. This full-time role reports to the Director and covers daily operations, inventory, pricing, online orders and customer service.

You will manage stock, coordinate suppliers, plan rosters, drive sales, implement promotions, ensure food-safety and WHS compliance, and prepare regular performance reports for the Director.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of demonstrated experience managing a retail store or substantial retail department.
• Diploma or higher qualification in business, retail management or a related field, or substantial relevant retail-management experience.
• Experience supervising employees, preparing rosters and providing staff training.
• Strong knowledge of inventory management, purchasing, pricing and supplier coordination.
• Experience monitoring sales, expenses, margins and store performance.
• Understanding of fresh produce, grocery or perishable retail products.
• Strong communication, leadership and customer-service skills.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing operational priorities.
• Experience using point-of-sale, inventory and online-ordering systems.
• Ability to work independently and report to the business owner.
• Availability to work across a retail roster, including some weekends and early starts.

Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee daily store operations.
• Manage product range, stock levels and store presentation.
• Monitor stock movement and minimise wastage.
• Coordinate purchasing and maintain relationships with growers and suppliers.
• Negotiate purchasing terms and arrange timely stock delivery.
• Review product costs and assist with setting retail prices and promotions.
• Monitor sales performance, operating expenses, labour costs, margins and store budgets.
• Maintain accurate inventory, sales and financial records.
• Recruit, roster, train and supervise retail staff.
• Allocate duties and monitor employee performance.
• Establish and maintain high standards of customer service and resolve concerns.
• Oversee online orders, customer collections and local delivery operations.
• Ensure compliance with food-safety, WHS and retail requirements.
• Prepare regular operational and performance reports for the Director.
• Identify opportunities to improve sales, reduce wastage and efficiency.
