Job summary

Mitre 10 Maitland is seeking a driven Store Manager to lead our store in Maitland. You will report to the Group Operations Manager, drive sales, manage store performance and build a high‑performing team culture that delivers outstanding customer service.

This hands‑on leadership role coaches and supports the team, drives operational excellence and shapes the store’s success with a focus on profitability, safety and customer outcomes. The role runs Monday to Friday, 7am–4pm.

Qualifications

• Previous retail leadership or store management experience in hardware/trades is preferred.
• Understanding of stock management, cost control and financial performance.
• Strong customer focus and ability to build partnerships with suppliers.
• Excellent communication and people leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop team members to achieve their full potential.
• Translate business strategy into clear store-level goals and action plans.
• Monitor performance and conduct regular reviews of financial and operational KPIs.
• Manage wages, stock flow, store presentation and operating costs.

About The Opportunity

We are looking for a driven and experienced Store Manager to lead our store in Maitland. Reporting to the Group Operations Manager, this is a permanent full-time position and you’ll be responsible for driving sales, managing store performance, and building a high‑performing team culture that delivers outstanding customer service.

This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll coach and support your team, drive operational excellence, and play a key part in shaping the store’s success.

What You Will Be Doing

You Are Likely a Match If You Have

• Previous retail leadership or store management experience, preferably in the hardware industry.
• Understanding of stock management, cost control and financial performance.
• Strong customer focus – especially with building trades.
• Proven experience working with suppliers.
• Excellent communication and people leadership skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and manage competing priorities.
• Commercial mindset and strong attention to detail.
• Availability to work across a Monday to Friday store hours from 7am – 4pm.
• Experience in timber, home improvement or trade retail (preferred but not essential).
