Deiji Studios in Byron Bay is seeking a Store Manager to lead all retail operations at the Byron Bay location. You will build and coach a high-performing team, drive sales performance, and ensure outstanding customer service across every shift.

Job description

In this role, you will be responsible for leading all retail operations at the Byron Bay store location, including managing and developing your team, driving sales performance, ensuring consistent customer service excellence, maintaining operational standards, and achieving store targets while reporting directly to State Store Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Leadership and Staff Management

Recruit, hire, and develop a high-performing team of sales associates for the Byron location

Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to all staff

Monitor employee performance and conduct regular progress reviews to improve productivity

Oversee staff scheduling to meet operational needs and ensure optimal coverage during peak hours

Address employee concerns and resolve internal conflicts effectively

Foster a positive and productive work environment that supports team engagement and retention

Ensure staff are trained on product knowledge, customer service standards, and company policies

Operations and Sales

Monitor and analyse sales performance to identify trends and implement strategies to maximize sales and meet targets

Set sales targets and regularly review progress against goals with your team

Manage inventory levels including receiving deliveries, checking stock, and identifying potential stock issues

Perform regular stock takes and coordinate with head office for stock orders via Cin7

Oversee visual merchandising to ensure product displays are appealing and aligned with company standards

Report any damages, wear or tear, and merchandising concerns to head office

Ensure compliance with cash handling procedures and loss prevention protocols

Monitor cash flow and deposits from the POS till, including weekly deposit of cash takings

Maintain detailed knowledge of products and continually advance product expertise across the team

Maintain a clean, organized, and well-maintained store environment

Customer Service and Relationships

Lead by example in providing exceptional customer service to resolve enquiries, handle complaints, and build customer loyalty

Address customer feedback and implement improvements where necessary

Report all store feedback and customer insights to head office

Share popular feedback from customers regarding design and product to support head office decision making

Develop good relationships with customers and maintain accurate customer records

Reporting and Analysis

Generate daily reports in Asana, providing comprehensive information to head office to improve operations

Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to support data-driven decision making

Provide weekly summaries of sales performance, inventory status, and operational challenges

Escalate any compliance, safety, or operational issues to head office promptly

Store Initiatives and Events

Participate in store-wide promotional initiatives and special events

Coordinate with head office on marketing and promotional activities for the Byron location

Manage implementation of Google Reviews portal or feedback mechanisms to collect customer insights

Maintain and update the retail brand book for store reference and team training

Other Duties

Maintain a clean and organised store

Weekly deposit of cash takings and monitor cashflow

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Proven experience in retail management at store level
