Job summary

Placed Australia is seeking a full-time Storage Facility Manager in Dandenong South, Victoria to lead internal storage operations supporting relocation services. You will supervise staff, coordinate customer goods, maintain inventory accuracy, and ensure safe, efficient storage processes.

Reporting to the operations team, you will implement storage workflows, train staff, monitor productivity, prepare utilisation reports, and align records with invoicing systems.

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher qualification in a relevant field, or at least 3 years of relevant work experience may substitute for the formal qualification.
• Must have at least 1 year of relevant work experience.
• Strong organisational and coordination skills.
• Ability to supervise staff and allocate tasks effectively.
• Strong inventory management and record-keeping skills.
• Knowledge of safe handling, storage procedures, loss prevention, and workplace safety.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet operational schedules.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Identify process improvements and support cost-effective operations.
• Reliable, proactive, and capable of working collaboratively with removalist crews and scheduling teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day internal storage activities supporting relocation jobs.
• Receive, record, label, and store customer goods brought in as part of removals.
• Track stored items and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Coordinate internal staging and release of goods for delivery in line with job schedules.
• Ensure storage spaces are organised, secure, and accessible for trained staff.
• Supervise storage staff and allocate daily tasks.
• Train staff on safe handling, storage procedures, and internal processes.
• Monitor performance and maintain productivity standards.
• Work with removalist crews and scheduling teams to coordinate storage movements.
• Ensure items stored are ready and correctly released to meet delivery requirements.
• Help resolve issues that arise during storage handling or job sequencing.
• Maintain accurate internal storage records and documentation.
• Prepare reports on storage utilisation, inventory accuracy, and operational performance.
• Ensure records align with job management systems and invoicing inputs.
• Implement company safety procedures in storage operation areas.
• Enforce secure handling, loss prevention, and internal control standards.
• Report and document incidents or discrepancies according to company policy.
• Identify opportunities to improve internal storage processes.
• Help implement workflow improvements that support removal services.
• Support cost-effective operations and resource use.
