W Melbourne is seeking a dedicated supervisor to lead a busy stewarding team in the heart of Melbourne. You will oversee cleaning operations, ensure water and chemical levels are correct, and support the culinary team with plate-ups and stock handling.

Excellent leadership, strong organisation, and communication skills are essential. This full-time role offers growth opportunities within Marriott International’s W Hotels portfolio.

Qualifications

• Australian Working Rights is essential. Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.
• At least one year of supervisory experience and/or 2 years of related work experience in the stewarding and/or culinary field.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment while leading a big team.
• Strong organisation and communication skills.
• Physical ability to move objects weighing <= 50 pounds; reach overhead and below the knees; move on uneven/slippery surfaces.
• A passion to lead and develop high-performing teams.
• Polished professionalism with an audacious, creative approach; playful and passionate about creating memorable experiences.

Responsibilities

• Direct and assist Stewards to improve cleanup efficiency.
• Ensure water temperature and chemical levels are appropriate and documented.
• Assist with other departments as requested, e.g., culinary team for plate-ups and stock transport.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools (dishwasher, hand wash stations, scrubbing stations, trash compactor).
• Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and coaching employees.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships to reach common goals.
• Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.

A Glance at What You Will Do
