Job summary

Defence Health is seeking a technically strong Statutory & Reporting Manager to lead our statutory financial reporting, regulatory reporting and financial control activities for a not-for-profit fund serving Defence members and their families in Australia.

Reporting to the Head of Finance & Actuarial, you will drive month-end, year-end closes, ensure accuracy and governance, work with external auditors, and advance reporting through better processes and data analytics.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of leadership experience in finance or accounting roles.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience with statutory financial reporting and financial reporting governance.
• Experience managing external audit processes.
• Regulatory or prudential reporting experience in financial services, insurance or health insurance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes.
• Lead regulatory and prudential reporting activities with accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintain a strong financial control environment and governance.
• Act as finance contact for external audit and assurance activities.
• Provide technical accounting advice across Finance and the business.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to strengthen reporting outcomes.
