Job summary

Moonee Valley City Council – Moonee Ponds VIC is seeking a Band 6 Planning professional to lead statutory planning and enforcement within the Planning & Building Department. You will assess applications, advise on development policy, and liaise with applicants and agencies to resolve complex planning issues.

The role emphasizes statutory investigation, enforcement actions for breaches, and proactive customer service to the public and internal teams.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in Urban Planning or related discipline is required.
• Relevant experience in Statutory Planning and/or Planning Enforcement is essential.
• Current Victorian Driver's Licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Process planning applications in accordance with the Planning Scheme, Planning and Environment Act 1987 and Subdivision Act 1988.
• Assess WSUD and Environmentally Sustainable Design (ESD) submissions.
• Issue enforcement notices and handle compliance breaches under relevant acts.
• Prepare reports and correspondence for the department and stakeholders.
• Provide clear planning information to developers, builders and property owners.
• Support a collaborative team approach within Planning & Building.
