Job summary

Rentco is seeking an experienced State Manager to lead our Victoria transport rental operations, including Derrimut branch and workshop. You will drive safety, profitability, customer satisfaction and team performance while balancing strategic leadership with hands-on oversight.

Reporting to the General Manager Operations, you’ll oversee fleet utilisation, budgets, P&L outcomes, and continuous improvement initiatives, building a culture of accountability and service excellence across the state.

• Proven track record leading operations and high-performing teams.
• Strong commercial acumen with budgets, P&L and KPIs.

About the role

What you’ll be doing

Lead branch and workshop operations to deliver exceptional customer service, operational excellence, and sustainable business growth.

Develop and execute operational strategies that improve performance, productivity, quality and overall branch efficiency.

Maximise fleet utilisation and asset performance by overseeing availability, maintenance, and minimising downtime.

Manage branch financial performance, including budgets, revenue growth, profitability, and cost control initiatives.

Lead, coach, and develop managers and operational teams, fostering a high-performance culture built on accountability and service excellence.

Build and maintain strong customer and stakeholder relationships, driving customer satisfaction, retention, and long-term partnerships.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Significant leadership experience within transport, logistics, fleet management, vehicle rental, equipment rental, or a related industry.

Proven success leading operations and high-performing teams.

Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, P&L performance, and operational KPIs.

Demonstrated ability to build strong customer relationships and drive business growth.

Strong knowledge of fleet management, maintenance operations, and asset utilisation.

Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.

High proficiency in business systems and Microsoft Office applications.
