Job summary

Bega Cheese Group seeks a State Logistics Manager to lead Vic/Tas teams, setting strategic direction and delivering safe, efficient warehouse services and product delivery across Victoria and Tasmania. The role will work across in-house and 3PL sites and may require travel between Melbourne locations.

About the role

Bega operate one of the largest cold chain distribution networks in the country, as the State Logistics Manager you will be responsible for providing safe and efficient warehouse services and delivery of products to retail, independent grocery and a full route trade market within Victoria and Tasmania. Bega operate a mix of in-house and 3PL distribution centres, and partner with numerous freight providers.

The role may be based in any of our Melbourne sites; Chelsea, Docklands, Laverton or Port Melbourne, as the role will require you to work in other locations from time to time. On some occasions travel regionally to Victoria and Tasmania.

Responsibilities

• Management of the company's state logistics operations and service providers from finished goods through to customer.
• Coach, motivate and create an environment where team members excel to work collectively as a high-performance team to achieve the strategic and agreed performance objectives
• Hands on and lead from the front, demonstrating personal commitment to change to engage with our company values and culture
• Delivering operational cost, quality and service objectives
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve processes, operational efficiency and service to customers
• Continually drive an interdependent safety culture

About you

• Experience leading a team in a fast-paced, complex large scale logistics environment preferable in FMCG
• Demonstrated leadership effectiveness in developing people and managing team performance
• A proven track record in managing 3PL contracts for multiple sites to achieve company goals
• Experience managing end to end logistics - warehousing and freight
• Exposure to managing muli-million dollar operational budget and managing around 200 dedicated warehousing FTEs
