Cover Genius is seeking a Staff Data Scientist for Generative AI on the Customer Ops team. You will own the architecture, evaluation strategy, and core components of agentic AI systems that handle complex, judgement-heavy tasks from automated claims decisions to customer-facing products.

You will ship end-to-end, collaborating with Engineering, Product, Operations and Compliance. You’ll lead design reviews, build evaluation harnesses, and drive AI capability across the organisation while shaping

Qualifikationen

• 8+ years in data science or ML, with 2–3 years shipping LLM-based or agentic systems into production.
• Deep expertise in LLM evaluation, ground-truth datasets, rubrics and eval harnesses.
• Strong Python engineering with tool-use patterns and cloud AI platforms.

• Own design of agentic AI systems and set boundaries, tools and contracts.
• Build evaluation foundations and ground-truth datasets with robust rubrics.
• Ship production systems hands-on: prompts, agents, tool integrations and pipelines.
• Lead engineers through influences e.g. design reviews and shared patterns.
• Raise AI capability with reusable guidance, templates and sessions.
• Define metrics and report outcomes to leadership with impact analysis.
• Assess opportunities for new AI investments and run fast proofs of concept.
