Job summary

Synechron in Sydney is seeking an experienced Staff Data Engineer to design, build and optimize scalable data pipelines and cloud-based data warehouses that support enterprise analytics and BI initiatives. You will work with Snowflake, dbt and data modelling to deliver reusable data solutions across business domains.

Ideal candidates have strong SQL, Python, and cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP), plus a track record of delivering production-grade ETL/ELT pipelines and data governance practices.

Qualifications

• Strong production Snowflake experience.
• Production PySpark / Spark experience.
• Python programming.
• Advanced SQL development & tuning.
• Experience with AWS/Azure/GCP.
• Enterprise data engineering basics.
• Git-based version control & CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data solutions using Snowflake as the enterprise data platform.
• Build and manage data transformation frameworks using dbt.
• Develop and optimize ELT/ETL pipelines for structured and semi-structured data.
• Create and maintain data models supporting analytics and reporting.
• Ensure data quality, governance, and documentation.
• Optimize Snowflake performance and cost management.
