Job summary

Bluefin Resources in Sydney, NSW, Australia seeks an experienced SRE/Observability Engineer on a 6-month contract to strengthen visibility, reliability and automation of the technology environment.

You will drive continuous observability, asset discovery and CMDB accuracy, map service topology, and bring together metrics, logs and traces to deliver actionable insights and automated remediation opportunities.

Qualifications

• strong hands-on experience in SRE and observability engineering.
• Enterprise observability and monitoring platforms.
• APM and application performance analysis.
• Infrastructure and application asset discovery.
• Dependency mapping, service topology and service modelling.
• CMDB / configuration managementand service data.
• Event management, event correlation and alert optimisation.
• Automation and orchestration of operational workflows.
• Metrics, logs, traces and distributed-system telemetry.
• Cloud and hybrid technology environments.
• Scripting/programming, such as Python, PowerShell or similar.

Responsibilities

• Drive and support continuous observability and SRE practicesacross applications, infrastructure and services.
• Improve asset discovery and service visibility
• Work with CMDBdata and configuration management practices to improve the accuracy and usefulness of service and asset information.
• Bring together metrics, logs, traces, events and topology data to create meaningful operational insights.
• Identify opportunities for event orchestration, automated remediation and workflow automation.
• Analyse recurring incidents, alerts and operational patterns to identify underlying problems and automation opportunities.
• Establish observability practices that enable teams to understand service health, performance, dependencies and customer impact.
