Job summary

Virtue Talent is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer / State Manager for a hybrid role in Canberra. You will lead remedial, forensic, diagnostic, defect, facade and waterproofing projects for strata, residential, commercial and industrial clients, with opportunities for equity and Director-level partnership.

You will conduct site inspections, prepare design documentation, oversee remedial rectifications, and mentor the team in a collaborative, low-turnover environment with strong client base.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
• Consultancy experience essential.
• Structural, Remedial, or Forensic experience preferred.
• Reliable team player with stable career history desired.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections and assessments, capture measurements, analyse structural challenges, and prepare detailed design documentation for remedial/new-build projects.
• Investigate and analyse failures across residential, commercial, and industrial structures.
• Prepare detailed written reports documenting cause of distress or failure, extent of loss, and remediation measures, including litigation reports.
• Draft documentation detailing rectification and remedial repair solutions for onsite construction issues.
• Oversee project management of remedial building rectifications to ensure quality and on-time delivery.
• Provide tailored recommendations and innovative solutions to complex structural, waterproofing, and facade challenges.
• Develop and implement structural monitoring system plans and analyse captured data.
