Job summary

Green by Nature in Melbourne is seeking a hands-on horticulture and garden maintenance worker who takes pride in healthy, vibrant outdoor spaces. You’ll prepare and apply pesticides, herbicides and fertilisers, operate spray equipment safely, and keep clear records of chemical applications in compliance with regulations.

You’ll be part of a strong team, with ongoing training, a safety-first culture, and opportunities to make a visible impact in local parks and community spaces.

Qualifications

• Must have valid Working with Children’s Check and National Police Check.
• Experience in horticulture/garden maintenance is required.
• 1+ year in a similar role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and applying pesticides, herbicides, and fertilisers
• Applying chemicals for weed control and eradication
• Operate and maintain spray equipment following safety standards
• Keep accurate records of chemical applications and ensure compliance with regulations
• Identify and report weed infestations
• Remove weeds mechanically when necessary
• Conduct routine litter clean-up and report any damage or issues

About You

You take genuine pride in your work, backed by a strong foundation in horticulture/garden maintenance. Known for your reliability and expertise, you’re earned a reputation for maintaining vibrant, healthy grounds that always look their best.

• You’ve got a ChemCERT / ACUP and at least 1 years’ experience in a similar role
• You've got a valid Working with Childrens Check and National Police Check
• You’re a strong team player who pitches in when needed
• You’ve got a keen eye for detail and a practical approach to solving problems
• You’re safety-conscious and committed to keeping yourself, your team and the public safe
• A full driver’s licence is a must.
