Job summary

Fulton Hogan in Warrnambool is seeking a Leading Hand to support our spray seal team, coordinating tasks and supervising crew. You will operate plant and ensure high-quality outcomes while prioritising safety.

Based at the Warrnambool depot, travel within the Southwestern Victoria region is required; weekends and nights may be necessary. A background in road construction and a Construction Induction card are highly regarded for this role.

Qualifications

• Experience in road construction or spray seal projects.
• Construction Induction card (White Card) required.
• Ability to manage a small crew and coordinate tasks.
• Willingness to travel within the region and work weekends/nights.

Responsibilities

• Ensure job site is safe for Fulton Hogan employees, sub-contractors and the public.
• Encourage crew to contribute to daily productivity safely.
• Proactively solve day-to-day on-site issues.
• Provide feedback to foreman and crew on performance and timeliness.
• Operate plant and equipment safely (skid-steer, rollers, paving machine, heavy vehicles).
• Perform manual labour as required (shovelling, raking).
• Raise safety, quality, or environmental concerns with the Foreman.
• Assist Foreman with resource allocation and next steps.
