Job summary

The Haynes Group is seeking a motivated Spray Painter in Archerfield, Qld to finish heavy equipment and components with durable paints. You will prepare surfaces, apply primers and coatings, and operate spray equipment in a heavy industry workshop.

Ideal candidates hold an Open Class QLD Driver’s Licence and a Certificate III. The role is casual but ongoing with a Monday–Friday roster and 6:00am–2:30pm hours. Applications confidential.

Qualifications

• Open Class QLD Driver's Licence is required.
• Safety-conscious approach to painting and finishing.

Responsibilities

• Prepare heavy equipment surfaces by sanding, masking, cleaning, and surface treatment.
• Apply primers, paints, and protective coatings to Caterpillar machinery, components, and parts using spray-painting equipment.
• Operate and maintain spray guns, paint booths, compressors, and associated equipment.
• Conduct quality inspections to ensure painted surfaces meet company and OEM standards.
• Repair paint defects, chips, scratches, and coating imperfections as required.
• Read and interpret work orders, specifications, and technical documentation to determine painting requirements.
• Work collaboratively with boilermakers, fitters, mechanics, and other workshop personnel to meet production schedules.

We're looking for a motivated and safety-conscious individual to join our team and deliver high-quality paint finishes on large-scale components. As a Spray Painter working in a heavy industry workshop, you will be responsible for surface preparation, priming, and spray painting of heavy equipment, parts, and components to meet high standards of durability and appearance.

• Location: Archerfield, Qld
• Roster: Monday to Friday
• Hours: 6:00am – 2:30pm
• Type: Casual - Ongoing position

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare heavy equipment, components, and machinery surfaces for painting through sanding, masking, cleaning, and surface treatment
