Job summary

Haynes Group is seeking a motivated Spray Painter for a heavy industry workshop in Archerfield, Qld. You will surface prepare, prime, and spray paint large heavy equipment and components to meet high durability and appearance standards.

Role details include a casual ongoing position, with a Monday–Friday roster, 6:00am–2:30pm shifts. Applicants should hold an Open Class QLD Driver Licence and a Certificate III in a relevant field.

Qualifications

• Licence type required: Open Class QLD Driver Licence.
• Certificate III in relevant trade or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare heavy equipment, components, and machinery surfaces for painting through sanding, masking, cleaning, and surface treatment.
• Apply primers, paints, and protective coatings to Caterpillar machinery, components, and parts using spray-painting equipment.
• Operate and maintain spray guns, paint booths, compressors, and associated equipment.
• Conduct quality inspections to ensure painted surfaces meet company and OEM standards.
• Repair paint defects, chips, scratches, and coating imperfections as required.
• Read and interpret work orders, specifications, and technical documentation to determine painting requirements.
• Work collaboratively with boilermakers, fitters, mechanics, and other workshop personnel to meet production schedules.
