Job summary

The City of Canterbury Bankstown is a large NSW council delivering 28 key services to 380,000 residents. The role provides support and guidance to sporting clubs and associations to ensure quality sport and recreation opportunities, including education and capacity building of volunteer groups.

Responsibilities include policy development, open space planning, sport facility management and grant submissions.

Responsibilities

• Support the development, implementation and review of recreation policies, programs, guidelines and facility standards.
• Assist in planning, managing and improving open spaces, sports grounds, recreation facilities and sporting infrastructure.
• Coordinate sports ground and oval allocations, usage and maintenance requirements.
• Deliver sports development, volunteer training and capacity-building programs for local sporting clubs.
• Assist with preparing grant funding submissions, reports and strategic planning documents for recreation projects.
• Conduct research, community consultation and stakeholder engagement to identify recreation needs and improve service delivery.
• Build partnerships with sporting clubs, community groups and schools, manage the Sporting Hall of Fame, and promote recreation facilities, programs and initiatives.
