Job summary

The City of Canterbury Bankstown Council is seeking a dedicated professional to support sporting clubs and associations and sustain quality sport and recreation opportunities across Canterbury‑Bankstown. You will educate volunteers and build capacity, ensuring programs meet community needs.

Responsibilities include policy development, facility planning, grants submissions and stakeholder engagement. This role emphasizes teamwork, customer service and delivering positive outcomes for residents.

Responsibilities

• Support development, implementation and review of recreation policies, programs and facility standards.
• Assist in planning, managing and improving open spaces, sports grounds and facilities.
• Coordinate sports ground and oval allocations, usage and maintenance needs.
• Deliver sports development, volunteer training and capacity building programs for clubs.
• Assist with grant submissions, reports and strategic planning for recreation projects.
• Conduct research and community consultation to identify recreation needs and improve services.
• Build partnerships with clubs, groups and schools; promote facilities and initiatives.
