Job summary

Interaction Disability Services in Sydney is seeking a dedicated Speech Pathologist to deliver person-centred, evidence-based therapy across NSW regions. You will assess, plan and implement communication and swallowing interventions for participants with diverse needs, partnering with families and staff to maximise independence and inclusion.

• Minimum 1 year experience as a Speech Pathologist.
• Strong clinical skills in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Current driver's license and a comprehensively insured vehicle for work purposes.
• Ability to travel across local areas.
• National Criminal History Check, NDIS Workers Screening Clearance and Working with Children Check

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive speech and communication assessments for participants.
• Design and implement evidence-based therapy plans that promote positive outcomes and reduce barriers to communication.
• Deliver training and guidance to families, carers and staff on implementing communication strategies and therapy plans.
• Ensure all interventions comply with organisational policies, procedures, NDIS Code of Conduct and SPA professional standards.
• Develop therapy and support strategies that reflect each participant’s goals, preferences and values ensuring they have an active role in their planning.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with defensible documentation standards.
• Manage workflow and ensure a positive high-performing team culture.
• Engage effectively with participants, families and external stakeholders to ensure person-centred outcomes.

You will demonstrate integrity, respect and accountability in your work and value collaboration and continuous learning. To be effective in this role you will require strong communication skills both written and verbal and can communicate effectively with participants, stakeholders and colleagues.

To be successful you will have:

• Minimum 1 year experience as a Speech Pathologist
• Strong clinical skills in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of communication and swallowing disorders
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• A commitment to person-centred practice and positive outcomes
• Current driver's licence and a registered and comprehensively insured vehicle for work purposes.
