Job summary

Health Workforce Queensland’s Toowoomba clinic is seeking a Speech Pathologist, graduate or experienced, to deliver early intervention services to children and families. You’ll join a multidisciplinary team and receive dedicated supervision, mentoring, and a clear path from graduate to independent clinician.

The 12‑month graduate program features structured induction, clinician shadowing, weekly supervision, and ramp‑up to managing your own caseload.

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualification in Speech Pathology.
  • Membership/registration with SPA.
  • Current Driver’s License and vehicle.
  • Current Working with Children Check or Working with Vulnerable People Registration (state specific).
  • NDIS workers screening check & Police Check.
  • Accredited first aid & CPR certificate.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Exceptional observational and report writing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver early intervention speech pathology services to children and families, supporting communication, participation, and independence.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments (formal and informal) to identify speech, language, and developmental needs.
  • Develop and implement individualised, evidence-based therapy plans aligned with family goals and child needs.
  • Work collaboratively with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams using a key worker/transdisciplinary approach.
  • Monitor, review, and adapt therapy programs based on client progress and feedback.
  • Provide education, resources, and ongoing support to empower families in decision-making and home-based practice.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and NDIS-related records within required timeframes.
