Job description

At Avina, we're a national allied health and behaviour support organisation with 400+ clinicians delivering services across South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.

Our Values Guide How We Work

Progressive | Curious | Respectful | Collaborative | Informed | Purposeful

About the Role

We're looking for an Early Career Speech Pathologist to join our Port Pirie team.

You’ll work across home, school, community and telehealth settings, generally supporting participants within around 30 minutes of Port Pirie, with clients clustered in surrounding areas wherever possible.

Our caseload is predominantly paediatric and youth (around 75%), with a smaller adult component, giving you the opportunity to build your skills across a varied NDIS caseload.

You’ll be part of a small local team alongside OT and Behaviour Support, while also being connected to clinicians and clinical expertise across our wider South Australian and national Avina network.

Regional Doesn't Mean Working Alone Working regionally can give you greater variety, strong community connections and plenty of opportunity to develop clinically - but that doesn't mean you’re expected to figure everything out by yourself.

You’ll have regular supervision, weekly team connection and access to clinicians across Avina’s wider SA and national network for clinical questions, case discussions and peer support.

We also have clinicians who regularly travel into regional locations through DIDO/FIFO arrangements, creating additional opportunities for face-to-face shadowing, mentoring and knowledge sharing.

Depending on team and business needs, there may also be opportunities for you to participate in DIDO/FIFO support across regional SA, with travel and accommodation covered by Avina.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Deliver person-centred Speech Pathology across home, school and community settings
  • Complete assessments, intervention planning and ongoing therapy
  • Support communication and/or mealtime and dysphagia presentations
  • Collaborate with families, educators and multidisciplinary colleagues
  • Build your confidence across a predominantly paediatric caseload
  • Participate in regular supervision, peer collaboration and professional development
What We Offer
  • Regular clinical supervision and support
  • A small, collaborative local team
  • Access to Avina’s wider SA and national clinical network
  • Shadowing, mentoring and peer learning opportunities
  • Flexible working arrangements and autonomy over your day
  • Achievable KPIs supporting sustainable workloads
  • Ongoing professional development and career progression
  • DIDO/FIFO opportunities, with travel and accommodation covered where applicable
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor or Master of Speech Pathology
  • Speech Pathology Australia membership, with CPSP preferred or in progress
  • A collaborative, curious and person-centred approach
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working With Children Check, or willingness to obtain
  • Driver’s licence and reliable vehicle for community work

If you’re looking for the opportunity to build your clinical skills, become part of a regional community and still have a strong network of clinicians behind you, we’d love to hear from you.
