Job summary

St Patrick’s College for Girls, Campbelltown, invites applications for a Specialist Teacher to deliver inclusive, differentiated learning for Years 7–12. You will design parallel curricula, support students with diverse needs, and contribute to wellbeing and engagement across the curriculum.

About the Role

St Patrick’s College is seeking an outstanding and innovative Specialist Teacher to inspire a culture of excellence in teaching, learning and student achievement.

This is a permanent full-time position commencing Week 1, Term 1 2027. The successful candidate will be invited to participate in an induction and transition program commencing in December 2026 to ensure a smooth handover and successful commencement in the role.

You will be an experienced and compassionate educator with upper primary and/or secondary teaching qualifications and a strong background in learning support. Passionate about inclusive education, you will deliver high-quality, differentiated instruction and develop and deliver parallel learning experiences across the curriculum for students with diverse learning profiles, including those with intellectual disabilities and significant learning needs. Committed to fostering student growth and wellbeing, you will support learners working well below stage level to build confidence, develop essential skills, and achieve their personal best.

Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

• Upholding the mission, values and Child Protection commitments of the College.
• Delivering high-quality, evidence-based teaching and learning programs that meet the diverse needs of students across secondary years.
• Providing inclusive educational support for students with a range of learning abilities, including intellectual disabilities and significant learning needs.
• Designing, implementing and evaluating differentiated and parallel learning programs across the curriculum.
• Supporting students working well below stage level through personalised learning pathways, targeted interventions and appropriate adjustments.
• Using assessment data, observations and evidence-informed practices to monitor progress and inform teaching and learning.
• Collaborating with classroom teachers, learning support staff and school leaders to ensure effective educational outcomes for all students.
• Developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs), personalised learning goals and adjustment strategies.
• Promoting student engagement, independence, confidence and wellbeing through inclusive and responsive teaching practices.
• Creating a safe, supportive and positive learning environment that values and celebrates diversity.
• Maintaining high standards of organisation, planning, documentation and attention to detail.
• Building positive partnerships with parents, carers and external professionals to support student learning and development.
• Contributing to whole-school initiatives that promote inclusion, accessibility and student wellbeing.
• Supporting the pastoral care, co-curricular and community life of the College.
• Participating in professional learning and ongoing curriculum development, particularly in the areas of inclusive education, learning support and disability provisions.
• Working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to support the academic, social and emotional needs of students.
• Maintaining effective communication with parents and carers regarding student progress, learning goals and wellbeing.
• Advocating for inclusive practices that enable all students to access and participate meaningfully in the curriculum.

About You

You are an experienced and passionate educator who inspires both students and colleagues through your enthusiasm and expertise.

You will bring:

• Appropriate teaching qualifications and accreditation to teach in NSW primary and secondary schools
• NESA Accreditation (or eligibility to obtain)
• Qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in Special Education, Learning Support, Inclusive Education, or related fields
• Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs, including students with intellectual disabilities and significant learning challenges
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement differentiated, personalised, and parallel curriculum programs across Key Learning Areas

Experience working with students performing well below stage level and developing individualised learning pathways to support growth and achievement

• Strong understanding of evidence-based practices that support inclusive education and student wellbeing
• Demonstrated ability to assess student progress, analyse learning data, and use this information to inform teaching and intervention strategies
• A passion for fostering positive learning outcomes for students with a wide range of abilities and learning profiles
• Proven ability to build positive relationships with students, families, teachers, and external support professionals
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to maintain appropriate documentation and learning plans
• Commitment to inclusive educational practices, reflective teaching, and ongoing professional learning
• Ability to work collaboratively with classroom teachers to support student access, participation, and engagement across the curriculum
• An understanding of and commitment to the ethos and values of Catholic education
• A current NSW Working with Children Check
