Job summary

Golding Contractors Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Specialist Maintenance Planner - Electrical Projects for Meandu Mine in Queensland. The role focuses on planning and coordinating electrical maintenance projects across site infrastructure, fixed plant and heavy equipment.

You will report to the Electrical Engineering Manager and ensure delivery within a safe, cost-effective framework, adhering to regulations and site standards. This is a residential DIDO role with a 9-day fortnight roster.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering electrical project maintenance within mining or heavy industry.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and cost-control skills.
• Experience coordinating shutdowns and major works.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end delivery of electrical maintenance projects and major works.
• Plan component change-outs, shutdowns and equipment overhauls.
• Manage projects from scoping to handover and closeout.
• Prepare work packs, schedules and cost estimates; coordinate suppliers and labour.
• Act as liaison between Golding, clients and site stakeholders, monitoring safety and costs.
• Ensure compliance with Coal Mining Safety and Health Act and site directives.

Golding is a successful mining, urban and civil infrastructure project management business with a proven track record of delivering safe, reliable and cost-effective solutions.

We are currently seeking an experienced Specialist Maintenance Planner - Electrical Projects to join our team at Meandu Mine.

Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating and overseeing electrical maintenance projects and major works associated with the site's electrical and communications infrastructure.

This is an exciting opportunity for an electrical maintenance professional to take ownership of planning and coordinating electrical projects across a diverse range of fixed plant and site infrastructure within an open-cut coal mining operation.

This is a residential DIDO position working a 9-day fortnight roster.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee the end-to-end delivery of site electrical maintenance projects and major works, managing scopes, budgets, forecasts and schedules.
• Plan and coordinate major component change-outs, shutdowns and equipment overhauls across site infrastructure, heavy mobile equipment, draglines and washplants.
• Manage projects from initial scoping and planning through to execution, commissioning, testing, defect management and final handover.
• Prepare work packs, schedules and cost estimates while coordinating suppliers, contractors, labour and materials for planned project works.
• Act as the key project liaison between Golding, client representatives and site stakeholders, monitoring project safety, quality and costs while proactively managing operational risks.
• Complete all planning and project administration activities, ensuring compliance with the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act and Regulation, site statutory engineering directives and relevant standards.

Capability Requirements

• Queensland Electrical Fitter Mechanic Trade Certificate (or Australian state/territory equivalent), or relevant engineering/project management qualifications.
• Experience in electrical project delivery, shutdown planning or major works coordination within the mining, heavy industry or resources sector.
• Strong project management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control and contractor management.
• Familiarity with SAP or a similar maintenance management system for work order and project tracking.
• Current Driver Licence.
• Current Standard 11.
• Current Coal Board Medical (or ability to obtain).

Highly Regarded

• Project Management qualifications, Electrical Engineering Manager (EEM) or QTP/QBP qualifications.
• Nationally recognised High Voltage Switching Operations Certificate (SOA) and practical HV coordination experience.
• EEHA (Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas) certification and/or Certificate IV in Hazardous Areas.
• Experience managing electrical projects and outages for large-scale site assets, including HV/LV infrastructure, washplants and draglines.
