Golding Contractors is seeking a Leading Hand Diesel Fitter to join the Maintenance Team at Jellinbah Mine. This hands-on leadership role focuses on frontline supervision, mentorship, and delivering reliable equipment maintenance while driving safety and efficiency on site.

You will lead a team, coordinate with planning and production, and uphold a strong safety culture in a heavy-industry environment. Local conditions may apply with meals/accommodation provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in a leading hand or supervisory role within mining or heavy industry.
• Strong working knowledge of mobile mining equipment maintenance.
• Proven commitment to safety leadership and statutory compliance.
• Excellent communication and people management skills.
• Current Australian Driver's Licence.
• Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical and Drug & Alcohol assessment.

Responsabilités

• Provide frontline leadership and supervision to maintenance personnel.
• Ensure maintenance activities are completed safely and efficiently in line with site procedures.
• Mentor and develop tradespeople and apprentices.
• Coordinate maintenance with planning and production teams.
• Monitor and maintain fleet critical spares and equipment inspections.
• Supervise shutdowns, repairs and troubleshooting.
• Facilitate shift handovers and pre-start meetings.
• Perform Supervisor duties during periods of absence.
• Promote continuous improvement and a strong safety culture.

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Leading Hand Diesel Fitter to join our Maintenance Team at Jellinbah Mine. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on maintenance leader to provide frontline supervision, mentorship and technical support while driving equipment reliability and maintenance performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide frontline leadership and supervision to maintenance personnel
• Ensure maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with site procedures
• Assist Supervisors in directing, mentoring and developing tradespeople and apprentices
• Coordinate maintenance requirements with planning and production teams
• Monitor and maintain fleet critical spares
• Conduct equipment inspections and ensure maintenance compliance
• Supervise shutdowns, breakdown repairs and troubleshooting activities
• Facilitate shift handovers and daily pre-start meetings when required
• Perform Supervisor duties during periods of absence
• Promote continuous improvement and a strong safety culture

ABOUT YOU

You are a safety-focused maintenance professional with demonstrated leadership experience in a mining or heavy industry environment. You possess strong technical capability, excellent communication skills and the ability to lead high-performing teams.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Current Supervisor Competencies S1, S2 and S3 (formerly Supervisor Levels 1, 2 and 3)
• Demonstrated experience in a Leading Hand or Supervisory role within mining or heavy industry
• Strong working knowledge of mobile mining equipment maintenance
• Proven commitment to safety leadership and statutory compliance
• Excellent communication and people management skills
• Sound computer skills and experience with maintenance management systems
• Current Australian Driver's Licence
• Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical and Drug & Alcohol Assessment

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

• Experience maintaining Caterpillar mining equipment
• Experience on CAT 6060 Hydraulic Excavators
• SAP maintenance management system experience
• Previous open-cut coal mining experience
• Certificate IV in Leadership and Management
