Job summary

The Shadbolt Group is seeking experienced Special Class Welders (structural welding) to join a major shipbuilding program. This role offers permanent and casual opportunities in a workshop environment with excellent pay rates and long-term project security.

Candidates must be Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents, with Special Class Welder qualifications and experience in structural welding, and be prepared for medical, police checks, and a welding test prior to entry.

Qualifications

• Must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
• Special Class Welder qualifications and experience in structural welding.
• Skilled in high-integrity welding to a minimum of AS 1554.1 standards.
• Must be willing to undergo a medical assessment and provide a clear Federal Police Check.
• Must pass a welding test prior to acceptance into the role.
• Safety-focused.
• Reliable.
• Recognised Welder Qualification certificate at current organisation in FCAW / MCAW processes preferred for steel.
• Skilled in welding to shipbuilding classification standards.
• Experience using semi-automated weld tractors.
