Job summary

Gillian Adams Day Spa in Sydney is seeking a talented, hands-on Chef to run our small kitchen with creative freedom. You’ll plan and deliver fresh, beautiful meals for guests, maintain costed menus and ensure high hygiene standards.

As sole chef, you’ll work independently, own menu development, stock management and budgeting, and have Sundays and Mondays off with no night shifts. This full-time role offers steady employment in a unique day spa environment with staff perks.

Qualifications

• Professional kitchen experience and the ability to run a kitchen independently.
• Experience with menu planning, recipe development and food costing.
• Strong stock management and portion control knowledge.
• A creative approach to food with good presentation.
• Organised, proactive and commercially minded.

Responsibilities

• Create and refresh menus reflecting guests, spa experience and seasons.
• Cost recipes, manage food costs and maintain healthy profit margins.
• Plan food purchases, order supplies and manage stock to minimise waste.
• Prepare and present fresh, high-quality food to a consistent standard.
• Oversee daily kitchen operations and service independently.
• Maintain excellent food safety, hygiene and clean kitchen standards.
• Manage kitchen budgets and seek efficiency/profitability improvements.
• Prepare daily staff lunches.
