Job summary

The Cross Keys Hotel in Adelaide is seeking a professional, creative and hardworking Sous Chef to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis, supporting the Head Chef in delivering high-quality pub meals and smooth operations in a fast-paced environment.

You will lead by example, maintain high standards, assist in ordering, cost control and menu development, and grow your culinary career within the Duxton pubs group.

Qualifications

• Minimum Cert 3 in Commercial Cookery.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a leadership role.
• Full Australian work rights.
• Hard-working, resilient and good attitude is a must.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support the Head Chef in all aspects of the business.
• Lead by example and ensure all procedures (health and safety, food handling, hotel policies) are followed by all kitchen staff.
• Relay important information to the Head Chef and Management.
• Effective communication towards Front of House staff.
• Strong time management through effective planning.
• Maintain a high level of productivity.
• Motivate and develop team members through positive attitude and actions.
• Participate in the development of creative dishes for menu.
• Assist in ordering, cost controlling and waste management.
• Support decisions made and adapt to change, showing flexibility and enthusiasm.
