Job summary

KDV Sport is seeking a Sous Chef to join a busy, award-winning sports and leisure complex on the Gold Coast. You will prepare high-quality meals for the onsite bar and grill, supporting guests at golf, tennis and fitness facilities as well as events.

You will work with both kitchen and front-of-house teams to deliver fresh, well-presented dishes during busy service times, in a dynamic and fast-paced sporting destination.

Qualifications

• 12 months' relevant experience as a Chef.
• Diploma-level qualification such as Diploma of Hospitality Management.

Responsibilities

• Develop menu plans and coordinate kitchen supplies.
• Monitor prep and plating to ensure standards.
• Communicate with managers and staff on food prep issues.
• Guide staff on cooking techniques and methods.
• Carry out cooking and preparation of meals.
• Enforce kitchen hygiene standards.
• May recruit and train kitchen staff.

You will play a key role in preparing high-quality meals for our onsite bar and grill, catering to a steady flow of guests enjoying golf, tennis, and fitness facilities as well as functions and events.

Working closely with the kitchen and front-of-house team, you will help deliver fresh, well-presented food consistently, even during busy service periods. Task & responsibilities

• Develop menu plans, calculate food and staffing costs, and coordinate the ordering of kitchen supplies
• Check dishes throughout every stage of preparation and plating to maintain consistent standards
• Communicate with Managers, Dietitians, and both kitchen and front-of-house staff to address any issues related to food preparation
• Guide staff through cooking techniques and provide advice on preparation methods
• Carry out the cooking and preparation of meals
• Apply and reinforce hygiene standards across the kitchen
• May be involved in recruiting and training kitchen staff
• May be responsible for freezing and preserving food items
