Job summary

OneStep Group in Melbourne seeks a Solutions Consultant to architect, advise, build, migrate and support customers on SharePoint, Microsoft Teams and related Microsoft 365 apps. This hands-on role collaborates with clients to deliver from our offering catalog using approved methodologies and a defined engagement scope.

You will work with clients to understand requirements, design and deploy governance in Purview, and mentor junior consultants while driving continuous improvement and staying

• Experience architecting and delivering SharePoint and M365 solutions for enterprise customers.
• Ability to scope, design, develop and analyse SharePoint/Teams/Purview-based solutions.
• Strong communication and ability to work with clients, vendors and internal teams.

About the role

Reporting to the Modern Workplace Lead, the Solutions Consultant delivers a wide range of solutions engagements within the Enterprise Solutions stream. The focus is architecting, advising, building, migrating and supporting customers on SharePoint, Microsoft Teams and associated Microsoft 365 applications.

This is a hands-on delivery role. You will work closely with clients and prospective clients to deliver solutions from our catalogue of offerings, following defined and approved methodologies and a clearly documented engagement scope.

What you will do

• Deliver solutions engagements to the satisfaction of the client, following defined and documented methodologies.
• Consult, configure and develop on Microsoft 365, with a primary focus on SharePoint and knowledge management systems, and supporting Power Platform, Microsoft Teams, Purview and associated Microsoft apps including Copilot Studio and Azure AI Studio.
• Deliver enterprise solutions and applications on the M365 platform, including SharePoint Online and On-Premises, Microsoft Teams, Entra and Purview.
• Provide solutions support to the Managed Services team.
• Ensure deliverables operate securely and consistently with OneStep’s line of business.
• Work with clients to understand functional and non-functional requirements.
• Understand project contracts and pursue opportunities to facilitate change, increase revenue, reduce risk and improve financial performance. Manage work within the commercial implications of the contract.
• Identify opportunities for new business and new service offerings.
• Support the sales team on product demonstrations, proposals, documentation and designs.
• Mentor and support junior consultants, providing technical guidance and promoting best practice in M365 development.
• Drive continuous improvement across process and delivery.
• Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies and best practice in M365 development and configuration.

About you

• You will have exposure to IT solutions development, documentation and assessment, and bring subject-matter expertise in your area.
• Diploma or Bachelor of Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Ability to scope, design, develop and analyse solutions for SharePoint, Teams, Exchange and Purview — and ideally Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Azure and Entra.
• Current-state assessment, review and enhancement of existing solutions on Entra, Azure, Office 365, SharePoint Online or SharePoint On-Premises.
• Migration of data from file servers, legacy SharePoint, Google, tenant-to-tenant and other repositories to SharePoint Online, using tools such as Migration Manager, ShareGate and AvePoint FLY.
• Experience with Copilot for SharePoint.
• Change management and training support for SharePoint and associated M365 solutions.
• Advise, configure and deploy governance for SharePoint and Teams using Purview.
• Demonstrable experience configuring, administering and developing in SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Power Apps, Power Automate and Power BI.
• Familiarity administering and configuring applications in Entra and Azure.
• Ability to produce high-level project documentation for workshops and deliverables — discovery, design, user guides, support and handover.
• Ability to deliver end-user, administrator and product training.
• Exceptional communication skills with internal teams, vendors and customers.
• Experience working within a defined scope and analysing solutions.
• Ability to give clear, quality advice grounded in technical knowledge.
• Strong work ethic and a genuine team approach.
• Ability to manage time across multiple projects.

We will also look for

• Degree qualification in Information Technology or a related discipline.
• Sound general knowledge of Microsoft and Telstra (or similar) products and services.
• SharePoint Designer and Nintex experience.
• Microsoft 365 certification.
• Interest in, or ability to develop and maintain, AI-driven solutions using Azure AI Foundry, Copilot, custom development and other AI technologies.
• Interest in using Azure AI services or Azure Integration Services to enhance existing applications.
• Ability to collaborate across teams to integrate AI technologies into projects.
