Optus Network Engineering is seeking a Solutions Architect to shape automation and integration for one of Australia’s largest networks. You will own end-to-end architectural direction, evaluate technologies, and drive designs across the IP automation and tooling platform at national scale.

You’ll mentor engineers, govern designs, and collaborate with vendors to align architecture with business strategy and engineering standards.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years in solutions architecture or senior platform engineering in telco or large-scale infra.
• Strong grasp of OSS/BSS integration and API-driven architectures.

Responsabilités

• Lead end-to-end solution architecture across automation and observability platforms.
• Define platform integration with vendor systems, cloud providers, and OSS/BSS with scalable patterns.
• Evaluate new technologies, run proofs-of-concept, and make buy/build recommendations.
• Translate operational requirements into maintainable architectures addressing performance and security.
• Align architectural decisions with business strategy and engineering standards.
• Provide architectural governance and ensure design consistency.
• Mentor engineers and represent the team in cross-functional forums.
