Job summary

Westpac is seeking a Software Engineering Specialist to contribute to BizEdge, Westpac's next-generation lending origination platform. You will work within a complex legacy environment, enhancing and integrating critical lending systems on a hybrid basis in Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast.

You will design, develop and support solutions, ensuring API security, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless workflows for bankers, brokers and customers.

Qualifications

• Strong experience working with legacy enterprise applications.
• Hands-on development with ASP.NET, C# and Web API.
• Solid Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and design practices
• Strong SQL and database development skills
• Experience designing and securing APIs, including API authentication and security best practices
• The ability to troubleshoot and work across complex, interconnected systems
• Excellent problem-solving capabilities and a proactive, ownership-focused mindset
• Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate technical solutions and project contributions

What’s the role?

Join the team delivering BizEdge, Westpac's next-generation Business Lending origination platform. BizEdge is transforming the way business lending is delivered, consolidating multiple legacy systems into a single platform for bankers, brokers and customers.

As a Software Engineering Specialist, you will work within a highly complex legacy application environment, enhancing, integrating and modernising critical lending systems. You'll play a key role in the BizEdge Integration Project, enabling seamless connectivity between BizEdge and Target Lending Applications (TLA) to automate lending workflows and improve customer and employee experiences.

Working alongside experienced engineers, architects and delivery teams, you'll contribute to the design, development and support of solutions that are critical to Westpac's Business Lending technology landscape.

This is a permanent opportunity based in Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast, with a hybrid working model that combines time in the office with flexibility to work from home.
