Job summary

Gold Coast Health is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead the software development function within Digital Experience, guiding engineering strategy, governance, security and enterprise software solutions for the region. This role leads the software development function within Digital Experience, responsible for engineering strategy, governance, security, and enterprise software solutions.

The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Software Engineering Manager to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 14 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

• Lead and manage development teams across multiple streams including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, professional development and day-to-day operations
• Set and maintain engineering standards, code quality frameworks and technical governance across the development portfolio
• Oversee agile delivery practices across development teams, including scoping, technical direction, engineering-driven work items and supporting on complex decisions
• Partner with product management to shape product-engineering decisions, informing technical feasibility and influencing roadmap priorities

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

• Tertiary degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience leading and managing software development teams across multiple technical disciplines
• Strong understanding of modern software development lifecycle practices, agile methodologies and engineering management principles
• Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
• Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)
