Job summary

Kinexus is seeking multiple mid-senior engineers to join a defence program in Melbourne. The role is hands-on across software development, build and release, and lab support. You will work in a fully on-prem environment and report to a Project Lead, collaborating with engineers across the program.

The position is a 12-month contract with potential extension. NV1 clearance is strongly preferred; Australian Citizens willing to obtain clearance will be considered. Based in Melbourne CBD.

Qualifications

• Current hands-on C++ development in a Linux environment.
• Experience with Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines.
• Comfortable switching between development, testing and infrastructure work.
• Ability to work independently and meet agreed schedules.
• Qt and Squish experience is highly regarded.
• Degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent, or related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain C++ software in a Linux environment.
• Build and manage on-prem Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.
• Automate GUI testing with Squish for Qt-based applications.
• Set up and run test labs and test environments.
• Support test management, planning and reporting.
• Participate in code reviews and resolve defects.
• Keep task estimates up to date and flag slippage early.
• Suggest improvements to build, test and delivery tooling.

The role is hands-on and varied, spanning software development, build and release, and test and lab support. You'll work in a fully on-prem environment, report to a Project Lead and work alongside engineers across the program.
