4DMedical Limited is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Algorithm Team. You will collaborate with C++, Python, and UI engineers to design, develop, and verify next-generation lung function analysis software using traditional image processing and ML methods.

You will contribute to production-readiness, deployment security, and regulatory compliance while supporting streamlined releases to production and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of production-quality modern C++ experience.
• Python experience is a plus.
• Experience with Digital Image Processing.
• Proven experience in a highly test-driven environment.
• Experience developing on Linux with containerised images.

As a Software Engineer on our Algorithm Team, you will work closely within a heterogenous team of C++, Python and UI software engineers to develop, build, and verify the next generation of our world-leading image processing and flow analysis software. You will work on designing, developing and improving our lung function analysis software, making use of both conventional image processing and ML methods. You will play an important part of a small but dedicated team in delivering world-leading medical image analysis technology to our customers – ensuring that our deployments are secure, maintainable, and compliant with rigorous regulatory standards. You will play an integral role in supporting the transition of the software releases to production and seek opportunities for continuous improvement to better support our production deployments

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and improve image analysis software.
• Continuous agile iteration.
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure design and implementation meet requirements.
• Write or update design, verification and validation documents.
• Work collaboratively within a high-performance Agile team to build world-leading image analysis products.

Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related fields.
• Solid experience in production quality modern C++ (5 years or more)
• Experience in Python a plus
• Experience with Digital Image Processing.
• Proven experience working in a highly test-driven environment
• Experience in developing on Linux with containerised images.

Desirable skills

• Experience in machine learning techniques, both training and inference.
• Demonstrated skills presenting and rendering scientific data consistently, ideally using HTML/CSS technologies
• Experience in highly-regulated industries such as medical and finance software will be helpful, but not essential in understanding how we work
