4DMedical Limited is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Structure Algorithm Team in Melbourne. You will design, develop and verify our lung and heart structure analysis software, using conventional image processing and ML methods, and ensure deployments are secure and compliant.

The role involves collaboration across teams, design and documentation, and supporting production deployment in a highly-regulated medical tech environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• At least 8 years' experience in clean, production-quality Python.
• Experience in a highly test-driven environment.
• Experience developing on Linux with containerised images.
• Experience with machine learning inference is a plus.
• Experience in ML techniques, both training and inference.
• Demonstrated skills presenting scientific data, ideally using HTML/CSS.
• Experience in highly-regulated industries is helpful but not essential.

As a Software Engineer on our Structure Algorithm Team, you will work closely within a heterogenous team of software engineers and machine learning engineers to develop, build, and verify the next generation of our world-leading image processing software. You will work on designing, developing and improving our lung and heart structure analysis software, making use of both conventional image processing and ML methods. You will play an important part of a small but dedicated team in delivering world-leading medical image analysis technology to our customers – ensuring that our deployments are secure, maintainable, and compliant with rigorous regulatory standards. You will play an integral role in supporting the transition of the software releases to production and seek opportunities for continuous improvement to better support our production deployments.

Responsibilities/Duties

• Design, develop and improve image analysis software.

Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related fields.
• At least 8 years' experience in clean, well-structured production quality Python.
• Proven experience working in a highly test-driven environment
• Experience developing on Linux with containerised images.
• Experience with Digital Image Processing a plus.
• Experience implementing and working with machine learning inference a plus
• Experience in machine learning techniques, both training and inference.
• Demonstrated skills presenting and rendering scientific data consistently, ideally using HTML/CSS technologies
• Experience in highly-regulated industries such as medical and finance software will be helpful, but not essential in understanding how we work
