Job summary

Austal Defence Australia (ADA) is seeking a Software Engineer to provide technical software support for SSA Integration Data Environment and related tooling. You’ll work on IDE applications, IAM orchestration, and cyber security enhancements under senior technical leadership.

The role emphasizes SDLC mastery, Agile/DevOps pipelines, and collaboration with ADA and Austal ICT teams. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in software engineering, strong .NET and Python, and cloud deployments with API

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or software engineering or equivalent experience.
Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience with SDLC, Agile and DevOps practices.
Proficient in dotnet and Python; cloud-native apps and API development.
Experience with data structures, databases and code reviews.
Defence security clearance eligibility is required or pursued.
Experience collaborating in integrated teams across disciplines.

Responsibilities

Provide technical software engineering support to ADA projects and IDE software.
Develop and maintain cloud-native applications and APIs using .NET and Python.
Design and optimize CI/CD pipelines for DevSecOps deployments.
Collaborate with digital service teams and ICT to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.
Contribute to architecture documentation, risk management, and roadmaps.
Leverage AI to accelerate software service designs and enhance security posture.
